The 2017/2018 season is an off year for the Region Avalanche program. We hope to offer a program next season in conjunction with a Level I MTR course. We are currently awaiting results of the National Board of Directors election, which will impact our ability to continue providing an Avalanche program in the GVR.

At present certification and recertification requirements for instructors are beyond a reasonable level for Patrollers within the Region to complete. With a change in the National Board, working with the Education and Avalanche committees this situation may be corrected.
