Senior S&T
Tom Wallin

As a wrap up from last season we had three patrollers go through Senior S&T, Carina Hasting, Samantha Starke, and Steve Dugan.  Carina and Sam were successful in all aspects of the S&T evaluation, and Steve completed the Toboggan portion of the program.  Carina had the added distinction of being the youngest patroller to have completed Senior S&T.

We have several programs in the Region this season which should be of interest to most patrollers.  For those patrollers interested in S&T instruction, we are offering an Instructors workshop (Phase II) course which will give patrollers interested in becoming S&T instructors a background of setting up an S&T program, ideas for skiing, patroller skills, and toboggan skills lessons, a review of the Instructor Development course, and instruction from PSIA instructors, as well as Senior S&T instructors.  If you are an existing instructor, this course will be a great refresher for you, and will count as a continuing education credit.  This course will be January 20th at Hunt Hollow.   We are also bringing a Patroller School to Bristol Mountain and February 24th-25th.  For those not familiar with Patroller schools, you get one day of working with a PSIA instructor on skiing skills, and one day working on Toboggan Skills.  This program is for any level of patroller, whether it be your first year as a patroller or your fortieth.  We do have a minimum of 40 people signed up to run this clinic.  If you would like more information, please contact Tom Wallin.
